Monterey County Agricultural & Rural Life Museum

Volunteer Opportunities

MCARLM has many opportunities for volunteers. It is our Volunteers that keep the Museum open!

The Equipment Restoration Committee works to restore and maintain the antique tractors and trucks in the museum’s collection. Committee Members help keep these venerable old machines in running condition for parades and demonstrations.

If you are interested in being part of the special group that works on these fabulous machines, please call the office at (831) 385-8020.

The Museum Gift Shop is located inside the main Exhibit Barn and is totally staffed by volunteer docents. Docents need only work one day per month: Friday from 12:00 noon - 4:00pm, Saturday or Sunday from 11:00am - 4:00pm.

We are currently in the process of rejuvenating our gift shop and need more volunteers to keep it open. Anyone interested in this opportunity, please call the Museum Office or email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Your donation will help us continue to inspire and engage current and future generations of agriculture and rural life history enthusiasts. Without the Agricultural and Rural Life Museum, our community would be bereft of the inspiration and sustenance provided by the historical context of our exhibitions. No matter the size of your budget, your gift will make a difference! Gifts of all sizes tremendously appreciated.

Thank you for your contribution!
