“GOLD FEVER!” SWEEPS KING CITY

It has been more than 150 years since the Gold Rush galvanized California, “Gold Fever!” is sweeping into King City. This time in “Gold Fever! The Untold Stories of California’s Gold Rush” a fascinating exhibition that presents a treasury of Gold Rush era events, images and document. The traveling exhibit, hosted by the Monterey County Agricultural & Rural Life Museum (MCARLM) will open for a seven week run on March 29, 2015 at Monterey County Agricultural & Rural Life Museum at San Lorenzo Park, King City. MCARLM Receives Award for Excellence in Museum Education

MCARLM Receives Award for Excellence in Museum Education

Local students learn environmental stewardship through Common Ground Program.

King City, January 16, 2015:  The Monterey County Agricultural and Rural Life Museum (MCARLM) at San Lorenzo Park in King City announced today that the museum has been selected to receive the prestigious Superintendent’s Award for Excellence in Museum Education for their Common Ground Garden project. Common Ground teaches middle-school students how to be responsible stewards of the earth through an immersive organic gardening program.

MCARLM’s Executive Director, Jessica Potts, stated, “We are honored to receive this award and look forward to furthering environmental stewardship through this exceptional program.” Ms. Potts will accept the award at the annual California Association of Museums Conference in San Diego.
